Collections Management
Manchester United Museum is still actively collecting items to fill gaps in the collection. A summary of the Museum’s Collections Management Policy will be available to view in due course.
Memorabilia out of our collecting area may be of interest, firstly to your local museum that may be looking to add to their sporting and social history collections, or The Football Museum, Preston. For Scottish items you can contact The Scottish Football Association Museum in Glasgow.
Valuations
Manchester United Museum and its members of staff are prohibited from giving valuations on items held by members of the public. This is in accordance with the policy of the Museums’ Association to which members of staff belong. We recommend that if you would like a valuation you should contact an auction house as their members of staff are trained to give valuations. We also recommend that you get a ‘second opinion’ from another auction house as you may get different opinions regarding the value of the item. Please contact us for an information sheet.
